What is Pocket Billions?
Pocket Billions is a “ghost investing” simulator. It tracks real stock prices so you can see what a simulated portfolio would have gained or lost — no real money, no real brokerage account, no real trades ever placed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this real money?
No. Every trade, position, and balance in Pocket Billions is simulated. Nothing you do in the app buys or sells real securities or moves real money.
Does Automation Mode / Auto-Invest still run when the app is closed?
Yes. Automation Mode and Auto-Invest run continuously on our servers on a schedule, not just while the app is open on your phone — so a take-profit, stop-loss, or auto-invest pick can trigger even if you haven't opened the app in a while. The settings you choose in the app (max positions, percent per trade, take-profit/stop-loss thresholds, and so on) are kept in sync with our servers automatically.
What are Trade Alerts?
If you enable Trade Alerts in Settings, we'll send you a push notification whenever a simulated trade executes — including ones that happen automatically while the app is closed.
Does my portfolio sync across devices, or survive a reinstall?
No. Your portfolio is tied to an anonymous identity created the first time you open the app on a given device — there's no login to sign back into. Reinstalling the app, or installing it on a new device, starts a brand-new anonymous account with the default $10,000 simulated balance; it won't pick up a previous portfolio.
How do I reset my portfolio?
In Settings, tap “Reset Portfolio.” This clears all your simulated positions and trade history and resets your cash and starting balance back to the app's $10,000 default. Your account itself isn't deleted — this is meant for starting over, not opting out.
How do I delete my data?
In Settings, tap “Delete My Data.” This permanently deletes your account, portfolio, trade history, and push notification registration from our servers — this is different from (and stronger than) Reset Portfolio, and can't be undone. If you keep using the app afterward, it will start a fresh anonymous account automatically, just like a new install.
I uninstalled the app before deleting my data — can I still have it removed?
Yes. Reach out below and we'll help locate and delete it.
Why does a stock's chart or quote sometimes show “unavailable” or a rate-limit message?
Market data comes from a third-party provider, which occasionally rate-limits requests during heavy usage. This resolves on its own shortly; your existing positions and balances aren't affected.
