Galactic Buddies Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Galactic Buddies is made by The Digital Bubble (“we”, “us”), based in Australia. This policy explains what information the Galactic Buddies app uses, where it goes and the choices you have. In short: your profile stays on your device, we don’t run a server, and we don’t track you.

Information Stored on Your Device

When you set up the app you enter a name or nickname, your age, and choose an avatar and an alien companion. The app also keeps your game progress: your buddy’s stats, XP, level, credits, items, completed quests, login streak and notification history.

All of this is saved only on your device. We don’t receive it, and it isn’t uploaded to any server we operate. It isn’t backed up by us either, so deleting the app removes your progress.

Quest Stories and Groq

Quest stories and level-up messages are written by an artificial intelligence service run by Groq, Inc. in the United States. When you start a quest task, the app sends Groq a request containing game content only: your alien’s name and species, the planet and the quest. It does not include your name, age, avatar or anything you type.

Like any internet service, Groq can see the network address (IP address) the request comes from. Groq states that it does not keep inference requests by default, apart from temporary logs kept for up to 30 days for reliability and abuse monitoring (Groq: Your data). Groq’s handling of data is covered by its own privacy policy.

What We Don’t Do

Children

Galactic Buddies is designed for players aged 9 and up. Because we don’t collect any personal information, we don’t knowingly collect information from children. Parents can review or erase everything a child has entered at any time with Profile → Delete Profile.

Your Choices and Rights

We don’t hold a copy of your information, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. If you have a privacy question or complaint, contact us below. If you’re in Australia and aren’t satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes to This Policy

If we change how the app uses information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the App Store release notes.
