Effective digital Design

We believe that great digital design places the user at the center so that we can effectively understand and define the users' experience. The terms “user experience design” (UX) and “user-centered design” (UCD) are often used interchangeably. But there’s an important distinction.

UX design is the discipline of what we do.

User-centered design is a process of how we do it.

We follow these steps to ensure we have a strong understanding of the best UX and UCD for your customers.

- Research. We immerse ourselves in your customers’ world to understand what they do and why they do it.

- We then sketch ideas that address the learned needs.

- We prototype the most promising ideas to evaluate them more accurately.

- We iterate through testing, repeating steps as required to refine the design.

Visual hierarchy is one of the most important principles behind good web design. It’s the order in which the human eye perceives what it sees.

Certain parts of your website are more important than others (forms, calls to action, value proposition etc), and you want these to get more attention than the less important parts. If your website navigation menu has 10 items, are all of them equally important? Where do you want the user to navigate to first? What important links do you make more prominent?

Visual hierarchy does not only come from size. Colour differentiation is an easy way to visually grab the attention of your audience.

The biggest eye catcher is imagery (make me want it), followed by a headline (say what it is) and call to action (get it!). Fourth place goes to a paragraph of text under the headline, fifth is any supporting or value added services/products and finally the primary navigation menu. This is visual hierarchy well done.
